Kunkle 542 Safety Valve — 1/4″ NPT, 3-200 PSIG (Air/Gas ASME Section VIII)

The Kunkle 542 is a compact brass safety valve for air and gas service on single and multi-stage air compressors, intercoolers, aftercoolers, instrument and control air lines, air receivers and pressurised equipment. It uses a Viton (FKM) flat seal and is rated from 3 to 200 psig (0.2 to 13.8 barg) across a temperature range of -10°F to 300°F (-23°C to 149°C). This 1/4″ male inlet variant relieves 14 to 235 SCFM of air depending on set pressure. The valve has a top guided disc, a manual lift ring for testing, and is factory sealed to prevent tampering or disassembly; every valve is tested and inspected for pressure setting and leakage before shipping, and the line is Canadian registered. Brass or stainless steel construction, NPT or BSPT threads – specify when requesting a quote. ASME Section VIII and XIII code service with the ‘UV’ designator and National Board certification applies at set pressures of 15 psig and above. Set pressures below 15 psig are supplied as non-code air/gas valves and do not carry the ASME stamp — specify your required set pressure when requesting a quote.
