SKU: KUN-230-N
Photo shows a code-stamped Model 330 — its nameplate carries a National Board mark. The Model 230 is NON-CODE: no ASME stamp and no National Board certification.
The Kunkle 230 is a lightweight aluminum relief valve for air and gas service on multi-stage high pressure compressors, intercoolers and aftercoolers, high pressure receivers and storage bottles, thermal expansion relief, and breathing air and SCUBA recharge compressors. The housing is aluminum B211 alloy 2024 T351 with stainless steel trim — an SA479-304 nozzle and A582-303 discs — and a urethane soft seat that gives repeatable leak-tight shutoff over many cycles. It is a direct spring-loaded design discharging through the sidewall, set between 300 and 1500 psig (20.7 to 103.4 barg) over a temperature range of -20°F to 185°F (-29°C to 85°C), and relieving 14 SCFM of air at 300 psig rising to 67 SCFM at 1500 psig at 10% accumulation. IMPORTANT: THE MODEL 230 IS A NON-CODE VALVE. It carries no ASME stamp and no National Board certification, and it is the only model in this family that cannot be ordered code stamped — the 330, 330S and 333S all carry the ASME Section VIII and XIII ‘UV’ designator. Inlet is 1/4 in. or 1/2 in. male NPT, or 7/16 in. SAE. Specify your inlet connection and required set pressure when requesting a quote.
