Kunkle 600NNM Safety Valve — N Orifice, 4″ Inlet, Steam ASME Section VIII

The Kunkle 600NNM is a cast steel, exposed spring safety valve for Steam ASME Section VIII. It is used on steam boilers and generators, pressure reducing stations, reciprocating and rotary air and gas compressors, and on pressure vessels including tanks, receivers, intercoolers and oil/gas separators and lines. Heavy duty cast steel construction with a stainless steel full-nozzle trim, a bolted yoke for easy maintenance, and a steel yoke with a cover-shield that guides the moving parts while leaving the spring fully exposed. Dual control rings give precise opening with minimum pre-open or simmer and exact blowdown control, and a heavy duty lift lever is fitted for manual testing. This variant has a N orifice of 4.340 in², a 4″ ANSI B16.5 600# inlet flange and a 6″ ANSI B16.5 150# outlet flange, and relieves 6,417 to 164,784 lb/h (15 to 750 psig). Set pressure range is 15 to 750 PSIG and the temperature range is -20°F to 800°F (-29°C to 427°C). Model 600 holds 1000 psig up to 750°F and 825 psig at 800°F. The N orifice is separately limited to 750 psig. A carbon steel spring with anti-corrosion coating is standard; an alloy steel spring is required above 750°F. All adjustments are factory sealed to help prevent tampering or disassembly, and every valve is tested and inspected for pressure setting and leakage before shipping.
