Kunkle Model 2 Safety Valve — 3/4″ MNPT, Side outlet, 5-250 PSIG (Air/Gas ASME Section VIII)

The Kunkle Model 2 is a compact brass safety valve for air, non-hazardous gas and steam service — air and gas compressors, portable and stationary receivers, tanks, intercoolers and aftercoolers, and steam turbines, kettles and other steam-processing equipment. Model 2 discharges through a side outlet; the companion Model 1 is the top outlet version. The seat is precision lapped metal-to-metal and beveled for premium shut-off, and a warn ring gives precise opening with minimum pre-open or simmer. Every valve is tested and inspected for pressure setting and leakage. This 3/4″ MNPT variant relieves 27 to 214 SCFM of air at 60°F across the 5 to 250 psig range. Kunkle publishes a single capacity rating covering both the 1/2″ and 3/4″ inlet sizes — they share the same orifice and the same dimensions, and differ only in the inlet thread. The 1″ size is rated separately. Set pressure range is 5 to 250 PSIG (0.34 to 17.2 barg) over a temperature range of -60°F to 406°F (-51°C to 208°C). ASME Section VIII and Section XIII code service with the ‘UV’ designator, National Board certified. IMPORTANT: valves set below 15 psig carry NO code stamp and no ‘NB’ marking on the nameplate, although the capacity table starts at 5 psig. Air and gas service is for NON-HAZARDOUS gas only. An optional vibration dampener on the lift lever and optional nickel plating for institutional equipment are available — name either when requesting a quote, along with your required set pressure.
